I got a V6 because
1. I'm 17, I don't have the money to be spending $100 on gas a week with how I drive. Yes my parents would've let me get a V8 and I could've gotten one for the same price that my V6 was.
2. I'm young and stupid I don't need that much power and I can always upgrade the V6 to get more power (which I plan on doing)
3. Anyone can make 500, 600, even 700+ HP with a V8 but I want to be unique and hopefully one day break the 700 RWHP mark with a V6 Camaro

So really it all comes down to want you want/need and you shouldn't get a V8 just because you don't want to be the guy that "Should've gotten a V8"

I hope you get some crazy deep pockets there Sparkyy. Or your parents do. Or maybe you've got a sponsor or two lined up. We have a few guys closing in on 600rwhp with twin turbos and all the supporting internals. I have no idea how much they or their sponsors spent to get there. While it's certainly possible to get 700hp out of a v6, hell Mercedes AMG is estimated to have 1000hp outta that 1.6 litre v6 they shoehorn into their F1 car. But that's including a turbo charger + energy recovery system that I reckon adds about 300hp so that ICE is at 700hp or so. They spend a few million on the power unit development and construction though. Yeah, it's a 1600cc v6. You can look it up.

I've always been a bit curious how much a few of these v6 fanatics have spent on their rides to get the crazy performance they are out of them. I'm reasonably certain it's in the tens of thousands, over and above the cost of the car but, I wonder if any of them have spent over 100K on their v6s. My practical self cringes at the thought. My non practical self is green with envy however.

Well i am south of Barrie at 89 and the 400. I usually head west to St Thomas for Sat night throttlefest. Its mostly just street cars with a few track cars mixed in. I usually head there with my buddy with a 5.0 Mustang. In sept ill head east towards Belleville to put a hurtin on Camaro Dude.

Belleville would be great for me it is an hour and a half I can meet up with you as you go through Durham.
