I let her idle down, then I granny her until I see the trans temp hand move from 100° before I do anything aggressive. That's just me. I've got all kinds of gas and time.

I don't even think about it. IF I did think about it, by the time I back out of the garage, wait to be sure the garage door closes and then drive 6 blocks through my neighborhood to reach the first 4 lane road with a speed limit over 25 MPH the car is warmed up. I don't usually do burnouts through the neighborhood when passing school busses at 6:00 AM so I believe the engine will be fine.

I don't warm up, but I live in a warm climate. Modern cars do not need to be warmed up before driving, but high rpm's should be avoided when the motor is cold.

Same here. Besides, it takes about the same amount of time for infotainment system to boot up. After that, time to take off.

LS3 here... can tell a difference when merging with traffic at 65 mph if the engine id cold, weird vibration shake... Warm the engine oil up to 120F no shake when launching into traffic...

My neighbors aren't control freak commies, they love the sound of fossil fuel burning in an american v8 through NPP exhaust.

Idling down takes 30 seconds, yes you probably should wait for that, that doesnt mean the car is fully warned up and ready to stomp on. People are being deliberately obtuse looking for an argument though.
So I should do a warm up 1/4 mile pass at light load?
The OP made a unconditional statement, his way is the only way with no variables.

And that's all there is to it.

Why some people are so stubborn even when given the facts and reason.

Do you Warm up before you go ?

Does this question refer to Camaros or sex?

In the former, not much; if the latter, always because results are much, much better!

He stated a fact, warming up under light load is better for your engine than sitting idling for 10 minutes. If people don't want to do that its fine but they should be aware that they are causing damage to their motor that they don't need to.

If you trailer your camaro to a drag strip (sorry but a track has corners) and don't have any other way of warming up then that is your choice, but your warmup procedure is sub-optimal, but then if you only drag your car and never use it as a road car then overall longevity is probably not a concern. But you know this already and are just being obtuse. Its a straw man argument, its obvious what the OP meant and clarified in later posts.

That is not what the OP said.

Yeah it kind of is. As I mentioned, some people are being obtuse or using strawman arguments to try to "prove him wrong", but that doesnt change the fact of what the OP obviously meant and clarified.

Ok, is the OP offering his advice to people that he believes are to stupid to figure it out on their own, or is he giving advice to people that are smart enough to figure it out with out his help?

No one is being obtuse, there are probably 1000's of scenarios where the OP's advice is not the most appropriate way.
