Use 6th all the time

I've found myself using 6th plenty of times, especially with the 3.91 gears.

Shift into 6th around 50mph or so and I'm good to go. Not going to be doing any quick passing, but that's what downshifting is for.

I still have fun when I want, but if I'm just going from A to B, it's nice to get a little better fuel economy.

I use 6th any time I'm over 40 mph. It bogs? Maybe if you're on a 5+% grade at 40 mph. It's an awesome highway gear, love it. 24 mpg at 60 mph!

I rarely get out of 4th on my drive to work which is small town stuff. Now, the wife, I see her in 6th all the time when she drives it. So, obviously it has to do with your own driving habits and need for torque (rarely going over 55mph on the way to work)

I'm in 6th gear about 75% of the time. Once I hit 30 mph I'm already in 6th gear.

Oh, did I mention I have 27" tires and 4.57 gears?

Depends on how you use your car.

My SS is my DD in the summer. I like being able to get 23 MPG for 70% of my cruise to work if I feel like saving gas.

Do I really need a lower geared 6th gear to hit 190 MPH? Sure it would be fun.... if I had somewhere I could hit those speeds legally. I don't so I'll take my overdrive and save a few pennies here and there.

As others have posted. Third and fourth gear are a total blast. When I feel like wasting gas and getting permagrin I'll skip the thruway and take a back road in mostly third gear. WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I do a 1 - 3 - 5 - 6 shift for my daily commute, as well. If above 40 mp/h, it's in 6th. Definite increase in MPG's as a result for me.

After driving a 3.91 & 4speed daily late '90's & going 55-60mph on the highway, the 2 added gears are much welcomed in my 1le 3.91. I use 6th gear all the time & still have plenty of power, it have never bogged down, haven't really have had 2 down shift much. Maybe there is a difference for the non 1le m6 cars. The trans & gearing is different.

Before buying my 1LE, I test drove a regular SS and it felt like a dog in comparison to the 1LE. LTs, CAI and tune makes it even more fun

6th is just the gas saving gear and top speed one without the governor limit that's all, these sports cars must sound so you maybe never use it in town, remember you driving a gas car not a diesel where you cruise at 1k rpm, the motor is just laughing or thinks "what i´s doing in here?" You all know how it goes...
