15" Sub
Ordering a 15" sub box from ********, wish I had the creativity to build something awesome like others do, but I don't.
Anyway just curious has anyone tried this, and what are thoughts, I currently have one 12 type x running on 1000watts. I will be upgrading to a Rockford Fosgate T1 2Ohm DVC with a 1700W Hifonics Brutus. Probably need the big three upgraded, need a new batter or a new Alt? Is it too much? I've always been a fan of the highs but you just can't get lows from 12" sub, so I am ready to step up to a 15". I saw ********s 15" box and I was sold instantly. Thoughts?! |

Personally I am not a fan of the 15". Sounds loose and sloppy to me. I have 2 12" right now, but am debating if I should drop down to 10"s. Whatever you choose, ******** has everything you need.

Personally I'd go with a ported 12" tuned low over a sealed 15". It should get just as low and louder than a sealed 15" and be cheaper while taking up less space. Plus ported takes less power to get as loud than a comparable sealed setup. How do you guys get in contact with ********? I've been sending ******** PM's and emails. Can't get a response for a quote on a slightly bigger ported 12" box than what's on their website for my Fi Q 12" that was in my Charger.

Well I figured since it is not ported it wont sound as loose or sloppy as a ported one was. I wish they could make the 15" with a port, think they would?

Can't say for sure if they would or not, shot them an email or a pm. Maybe you'll have better luck getting a response. A ported 15" box would take up a whole lot of trunk space I'd imagine though. I'm going with a local installer that does pretty good work.

Thats my first option is a local audio store, I sent ******** an email just for the hell of it though. I'll prolly swing by the store tomorrow they can actually measure and do all kinds of goods stuff in person. Make it easier on everyone...

Please do not get a 15. They sounds like crap. Get 2 12's for sure. Ive heard many high end 15's and all of them sound terrible.

But the only enclosure for 2 12's they have is not ported, and I don't want to seal 2 12's -_-

I have had 2 15's and they sounded great in a sealed enclosure, drawback is a huge box. They go really low and have long deep bass. I now have 2 10's and it is a tighter harder bass, and for low deep bass it sounds just as good and probably better IMO. I have a ported box and I can play them louder. If you won't mind giving up your trunk you will have a really good system with that much power.
