Master cylinder replacement did not help. Dealership ordered the slave cylinder and will be trying that tomorrow. There are only so many components in a hydraulic clutch setup. Fingers crossed that this is it.
Dealership continues doing a good job and staying on this for me.

Thanks for the update. I hope replacing the slave cylinder too would fix it!

Pedal --> Master --> Hose --> Slave --> Throwout bearing --> Pressure Plate Frankly I'm not sure how it left the factory.

If you want some interesting reading google turkey baster clutch stuck pedal. I am not sure on Camaro's but corvettes have had a lot of this same issue in the past. You dealer is doing exactly what mine did. If it is the same problem, after they slave does not fix it they will want to put in an aftermarket return spring. Hope you have better luck

Like I said previously, GM and the dealer are taking this seriously and working to fix it, so I have nothing to complain about at this point.

Dealer just called. Car is fixed, will be picking it up tonight.
Here is all the work that was done. Kudos to my dealer for sticking with it and driving to conclusion. 1. Bleed the system/check the pedal assembly - no change 2. Install a new master cylinder - no change 3. Swap the clutch valve with one from a working car. (circular piece that is inline behind the pedals. It was pictured earlier in this thread) - no change 4. Swap the pressure plate and slave cylinder - fixed. Dealer received authorization from GM to do both since the transmission was out of the car. Not 100% sure which thing fixed it, but it is fixed now. I'll confirm that all is well when I pick up the car.

And I can confirm it is fixed. Everything is great. Dealer believes it was the pressure plate.

Glad to hear the dealer resolved your issue. Our money would be on the pressure plate as the culprit. If the PP fingers were defective it could definitely cause the slow engagement.

1. Replaced master cylinder and bleed - problem still exist. 2. Replaced check valve after the master cylinder - still exist. 3. Remove transmission and replaced clutch actuator (slave cylinder) - FIXED. |
