I agree with you. You are making too much sense .

I wouldn't be surprised if the GM kit is more expensive (hopefully no crazily more expensive) but i would pay the extra $$ for the piece of mind.

No...the GM kit contains new shocks/struts and springs. The Eibach kit will likely just be springs. At least, that is what it was in the past. Also, this is partly why the GM kit is much more expensive that just buying some lowering springs.

I think we should all keep in mind just how much better the 6th gen stance is compared to the stock 5th gen...especially the V6. wow..

This was my stock 5th gen V6 before I did lowering springs/wheels/other body parts

You are correct on the reason why the lowering kit from GM is pricey because it comes with shocks AND springs however that is NON-MRC kit ONLY. They haven't announced ANYTHING about the MRC lowering kit they will offer except saying that will offer it... Thus we do NOT know if MRC lowering it will have the shock/spring combo as MRC = Shocks. HIGHLY doubt they will give new MRC shocks WITH lowering springs since there is absolutely no point. Even if they did... That kit would be 3-4 grand minimum which NO one would buy. Why it is more likely to just have lowering springs only for the MRC as there is absolutely no need for shocks since MRC shocks are godly to begin with.

The stock height and ride quality is great. But like I mentioned. It isn't just about looks, it is the icing on the cake and lowering = performance which some do care a lot more than looks.

As for warranty purposes. Glen is correct, GM won't honor the warranty on the springs IF you go with Eibach or ANY aftermarket company. Same deal for all the aftermarket parts you have on the car. It won't void out your entire warranty (except a tune, they really don't like that lol) but will void our your warranty for springs related issues or if springs did cause the issue.

I believe he is referring to the cars equipped with MRC and it seems you are referring to the GM lowering kit for the non-MRC equipped cars.

I think even the OP understands why you would lower that car.

I see no reason to lower it. I get the feeling its a generational thing... I grew up wanting an aggressive rake on a muscle car. I think more young people prefer the sports car look over a muscle car.

Just curious, but what rim offsets were these? Based on what I'm seeing online, it looks like you have the Foose Outkast wheel. The 8.5 has a 35mm offset, while the 10" has a 40mm offset. So the front wheels will poke in about 10mm compared to stock, while the rear will poke out a few mm.

I was thinking your aftermarket rims would have both poked out further than stock, but that doesn't appear to be the case. Is this correct?

Well, if you can stick you arm in between the tire and the fender and grab your spring.. There is a problem. Mine must have come with the 4x4 option as the wheel gap is huge.
