Pedal Commander?
I’d love some input from anyone who has experience with the Pedal Commander, as I’m very interested in purchasing one but would like to avoid cels, limp mode, and other problems that seem to be associated with throttle controllers. I know there was mixed feedback from the vitesse but how does this brand hold up? I know it won’t make the car “faster” but I would love a quicker response on the low end. Your feedback is much appreciated!!

Ive had my pedal commander for about a year with no CELs or limp mode like I did with my Vitesse. It's been good to go.

I've always been curious about this device. Do you feel it was worth it?

I stay on sport 1 but I'm also cammed. It's pretty responseful and if its too high of a setting the throttle gets jerky from being too responsive. I like it and it is here to stay.

Check out JMS PedalMax throttle controller before you buy. It's made by an engineering firm and is the ONLY tc made in USA ! ALL others have inferior material circuit boards that come from China

Thanks! Are you running this one? How long has it been trouble free?

Anyone have a bad experience with the Pedal Commander?

No, I got a VTC when it first came out in 2014 before the JMS tc was available, if it was available I would have gotten it. Real glad to say I haven’t had any problems with the VTC but if I do I will replace it with the JMS PedalMax

He already has a tune.
Tune will get you nowhere near the level of response or control/adjustment a throttle controller will. It's not even close. The same goes for a ported throttle body, but that helps more than a tune does. On its highest setting, the throttle controller can make the car damn near undriveable. You truly have to adjust to them over time on these settings or you will look like someone that is learning how to drive a manual car, bucking and jerking like crazy. Think of it this way...With a tune, you are trying to increase the throttle response solely via software with limited settings available. With the throttle controller you are using a purpose built dedicated piece of hardware with the ability to fine tune sensitivity. The best part is it doesn't alter the tune in any way - leaves no trace. The worst part is that they don't play nice with every single car out there, but as far as I have seen it is only Vitesse that has this issue.

I really don't get the it, I've got no problems with throttle response. Guess I'd have to drive with one of these commanders to see a difference but i like my pedal just fine. If i increase my sensitivity with my whipple it would be a violent ride.

I understand with a whipple, it would be moot point probably with that kind of power. Even with a tune, ported throttle body, and stage 2 cam, I still like the pedal commander, it just removes any kind of lag from the pedal to response.
