he tells me it will change colors with the interior lighting.... is that true? does any one have this do you like it can you turn it off or down it was part of the package and I'm going to take it. but part of me thinks it might be a bit much.... I'm sure i can disconnect if i don't like it.. |

I considered getting it when I ordered my car. But after reading about other people that have it, I decided against it. Not because it's too bright, but because it sounds like it's hard to tell that it's even there.

At night it is VERY clear to see, just like the other ambient lighting available. And yes it changes colors and has all sort of modes to choose from via the touchscreen settings. Love mine. The chicks dig it too.

Had it in my 5th gen. Hated it and disconnected it. Too distracting and why the hell am I lighting up my feet? For what?

For when you get in and out of the car.

As far as I know, the foot well lighting does not change color, like the ambient lighting in the 'Lighting and Convenience" package, unless it's something that the dealer is adding.

I thought the footwell lighting pkg changed color.. if not it’s awfully expensive for a set of lights.
I may be wrong though.

The footwell lighting does in fact change colors via the touch screen display and app. By default a different color is associated with each driving mode (e.g. Track, Sport, etc.) . It is not super bright and is more a mood light than anything else.

The add on option does indeed change colors with the interior lighting, same as the light strips. It really isn't visible at all during the day and only noticeable at night if you look directly down to the footwell. It's nowhere near bright enough to ever be distracting while you drive and I think that's the idea.
It does not interfere with the white footwell LED light that turns on with the cabin lighting when you open the doors. It's purely atmospheric lighting and not meant to allow you to see anything in the footwell area. |
