My take on rentals - grocery getters, minivans, 4 doors, all pretty safe to buy assuming you get a good deal. Ive bought three, no issues with any of them.

I rent alot - by the month - and Enterprise is decent about service. The local Express Oil type places change the oil and service them (thats who works on my out of warranty vehicles).

The bad -

(1) Paint is never taken care of.
(2) Interior is not taken care of.
(3) Driven hard often - not necessarily a bad thing but be aware

And why I would NEVER buy an SS rental (or the Turbo 4) - I promise you it has never had anything other than 87 octane in it. EVER. And driven very hard with the 87.

I bought a used 2016 Yellow V6 Hertz car about 5 or 6 months ago. Had all the fluids done. (they looked fine). Added stripes, clear bra, trunk mounted amp, new speakers and reproduction Z28 wheels in black. Runs fine, not a fan of the A8, but otherwise just the ride for me. I rent cars allot, I think most of the convertibles go to older men with wifes on vacation. (describes me). 1 minor issue with top and a service bulletin on top storage switch's. Nothing else. Love it...
