"Service Rear Diff" Pop Up Message 18' 1ss 1le
I have a brand new 2018 1ss 1le with around 1,600 miles. Almost every time I get hot and heavy with the gas pedal and push the car I get this warning. I have replaced the fluid in the differential but nothing else. Without fail every time I drive "passionately" this warning pops up. Is anyone else having a similar issue?

Nope, so I would take it to the dealer as it sounds like something is going on with the rear diff.

Was this a DIY diff fluid change?

Last time I took it to the dealer I had them change the rear differential fluid. Basically every time the tires get loose it flashes on and I just dismiss it. I guess it might be time to take it in.

Usually happens after losing traction a bunch of times or hauling ass through a long windy road. No solution thus far. Dealer is stumped.

Well that sucks, is it still a problem for you. I'm fast approaching 1500 miles on your 'brother' car and after the fluid changes I'm probably going to drive the snot out of it for a while . Not that I've been perfect during break-in, but the few times I've let it rev above 4K makes me want to spend a lot more time up there...
How is your car otherwise zryan? I've had several of the 'typical' problems already with mine. Left endlink has come loose on three separate occasions (every ~400 miles, twice for the bottom nut, once for the top), wheel ticking, NPP valves rattling. Nothing I'm going to bother with the dealer to fix, loctite for the endlinks, grease for the wheel tick, epoxy eventually (fuse pull for now) for the NPP valves. I love the car but dang, I do wonder why GM has trouble with the easy stuff. |

My car is holding up fine, they gave my computer an update which fixed the "service rear diff" issue. I've had the sway-bar issue but that was rectified as well. No other issue although I do hear a ticking type noise and am wondering what that is. I hear it when I'm close to other cars or walls and at lower RPM. Other than that the car is brilliant.

You don't need "grease" for the wheel tick. Just make sure your lug nuts are torqued to 140 ft. lbs. That is probably why it keeps coming back if you're greasing them. They require no lubricant.

Update: Despite Chevy dealership efforts to update the computer failed. Car is completely fine but the message still pops up.

I may have misunderstood what you wrote. When did this start happening? After you changed the fluid, or at some point before? If it was before, at about what mileage? Thanks.
