Why is the DRY filter from rotofab is out performing the oiled?

Does anyone know why the dry filter has better HP gains than the oiled? The oiled has better airflow, so why?
My thought are that probably the LT1 doesnt need the extra air flow from the oiled and the engine performs better with less air. car stock

I can only speculate but a little more airflow through the pores of the filter? vs having the pores condensed by oil.

I have heard that the oil of an oiled filter messes with the mass air flow sensors readings thus could impact the performance. I do not know how true that is just what I heard.

I will try to find the thread, but a forum member tested both filters on a flow bench and the dry filter did flow more air than the oil

My oiled filter, different brand , hasn't caused any performance issue to any sensor or otherwise. The difference in dry vs oiled is pretty minimal

The oiled filter also picks up more of the finer dust/dirt particles here in the SW I think. I clean mine at least every oil change, sometime sooner like when we have dust storms...

Oiled filters only become a problem if the owner over-oils it. When done properly, there is no oil loss into the intake pipe and MAF sensor.

I would highly recommend the sound delete tube option as well if you are going with RF. It cleans up the engine bay.

You will not have any buyer's remorse with RF. We sell their intakes, and only their intakes, for a reason on this platform.

Roto fab has proven to be amazing in my testing compared to other brands. I have also moved to the dry filter which on the dyno showed an increase of 2.2hp consistently. Which is odd as oiled has typically shown gains between the 2 different types.

Do you plan to share some dyno sheets of the CAI comparison? We look forward to seeing your results!

I put a March ram air kit on my Mustang Cobra and the force from the added air flow pushed the oil off the filter and almost left me stranded, Completely ruined my mass airflow sensor and voided my car motor warrenty!!!

Why no dry filter available for Big Gulp?
