2020 Z/28 owners meet/track/cruise weekend Final Details
********::::::CANCELED:::::::*********
Due to an over-sight on my part, we're canceling the meet and greet. We'll try to find another date/location. Unfortunately, after thinking I had it all nailed down, what i DID NOT realize is that for Novices, they would be required to buy both days at the track Sat/Sun. Thus, this would leave the cruisers high and dry. SO it axes teh idea of a cruise, which is a good portion of the idea. So, really sorry to anyone who had plans in the works. We'll try again soon. Ok folks, here we go. We have a good date. I know this makes it tough for our West Coast peeps, but again, the plan is to alternate locations. If some west coast people band together, a shipper truck becomes pretty cheap. Edit: for the CA folks, we have a member who is friends with a shipping company. if he gets a solid head count, he can get a quote. Anyway, The plan: Road Atlanta/Cruise on Memorial day weekend. This presents the best date because it has a holiday rolled in to help with travel. The plan is to arrive in Georgia Friday for a late-ish meet and greet. Saturday morning, we track at RA and then back at the hotel for drinks, hang out, parking lot chill..etc. Sunday, early cruise out to cowee lookout, good mountain cruising, good photo ops, nature, etc. Cruise out to a BBQ joint in the mountains. This takes care of the track folks, the cruise only folks, and the folks that want to do both. The track day is with Chin Track Days, and it fills up FAST! Thus, it will be imperative that you register quickly as SOON as it opens (I will update with opening date, they announce it well in advance). I found a good hotel with plenty of parking, safe parking out of the way and next to a couple restaurants. Vote in the poll, so I can get a rough number to let the hotel know, maybe I can score a discount. Last edited by 1970judge; 01-21-2020 at 09:10 PM. |

I've had my Z/28 in Western NC twice now for vacations. Our cars were born for the twisty asphalt there.
I won't know if I'll be able to go at this point, but if I do I'll add on a few days as there are some cool things to do in the area...and plenty of roads to have fun on. <-- My picture here is from the Tail of the Dragon actually.

Marcus- I'm interested so put me as a maybe. I'm an instructor for CHIN and have been wanting to do Road Atlanta but I usually do Pitt Race that weekend. Let me see if I can find another Pitt Race date to replace it.
Thanks for coming up with the plan!

Wanna get this up top again. Looks like we’ll be running with Chin at Road Atlanta.
Plans: Drive in Friday for meet and greet (optional of course, if you dont want to track). Saturday track day, Sat evening meet and greet, parking lot chill. Sunday, early cruise to the mountains for some scenery/photo ops/lunch. Roll out Sunday evening/Monday morning. |

The idea is to alternate locations every year so everyone gets their fair share. CA had a high volume of requests, so more than likely I would say. We do have someone in CA that would arrange a shipper to road atlanta. Split up amongst a few people is quite cheap, if that interests some people.
