It seemed to shift sort of slow for me. Test drive though, and barely any miles.

Put the A8 in sport or track mode and the shifts are more aggressive, this is how I test drove the 2SS at my dealer.

Just to add some engineering information to the thought process. This is from Tadge Juechter, Corvette Chief Engineer:
The Z06 Automatic transmission put in "Drive" selects the lowest possible gear ratio for best acceleration, and because it has 8 closely-spaced ratios typically runs higher average RPM than the manual. This optimizes lap time performance, but also taxes the engine oil and coolant more for any given track. So the automatic has the capability to run faster laps than the manual, but thermal limitations are reached more quickly. Customers who are planning to run extended track-day sessions at 'professional' speeds, are advised to go with the manual transmission, or to paddle shift the automatic and select higher gears when conditions warrant it. Whichever you choose, enjoy it. Another piece of information. Went to Barrett Jackson with my buddy with an A8 in his ATS-V. He also owns an RS5 Audi with DCT. As many here have said he says the shifts in non track mode on the A8 are slow and not nearly as smooth as the DCT, however when in Track mode it is better than the DCT. He does instruct for the Audi Club both in the RS5 and my Camaro 1LE track car I sold him.

Can someone please tell me is setting the drive mode and putting it in sport track etc. The same thing. If not how do you set them separately pulling the plug in a couple months pumped that's all.

Thanks a million, this is why certain test drives felt or souned different. I always used track mode for driver mod but the exhaust could have been changed. I heard it's a transport mod to
