I looked at a 2016 1SS HBM last year. Aside from the cloth interior I didn't notice anything different at first glance. It was bought before I could move in. I ended up with a 2017 2SS HBM and I am very happy with it.
I know I would have been happy with the 1SS because that V8 growl doesn't sound any different.

I actually just went the other way... I had a 2011 2SS that I purchased new in 2010. After several issues and almost $6000 in repairs, I picked up a brand new 2LT/RS last week.
Couldn’t stretch to a 2SS at this time, but with the advancements in technology over the past 7.5 years, the V6 isn’t ‘that’ much slower than my 2SS was. And all the new features and gadgets sure are nice. Summit white, matte black rally stripes and adrenaline red interior. Love it!

Love the pic Zed Sled!!! I too came from a 2010 2SS LS3 6 speed that was modded to a 2016 2SS 6 speed and don't regret it. Sometimes I miss that old LS3 and Hurst shifter with LT headers and loud exhaust though! I do like my 2016 with MRC which my 2010 didn't have.

The Gen6 is hands down the better car. I'd put my 2016 2SS up against my 2013 1LE any day on any track.

Congrats on the new car, they are fun and better in every way....except space but that's not what these are built for. My 13 was a 1SS and debated on getting a 5th gen ZL1 or a 6th gen 2SS, went with the 2SS and sooooo glad I did.

Just went from Ann Arbor Michigan to Atlanta and 29.9mpg overall. not bad for a 6.2l |

Congrats. I'm gonna be making a similar move. Bought a 2013 2 LT when they were new and 5 years and 100k miles later(long commute) plan on trading in. Sticking with 2 LT because of the drive and a SS would double my insurance in the North east.
Made some minor compromises on the first order, this one I plan on getting everything I want. |
