My aunt/uncle live in a town in Arizona where they don't have any car laws so. Already registered my 4th gen while back & never get hassled by CA cops.

Heh, I find this particularly interesting. Nothing would be easier for them than to run your AZ plate and see if you've had a CA address for more than x weeks or months, they don't even need to get out of their cars.

Meanwhile, messing with people who have mods invisible from the outside is a whole lot more involved, one has to measure exhaust SPL, pull you over, check underneath and know what is supposed to be there etc. Makes no sense to me, that's all.

Well if you know the actual law if you live from X amount of time in one state & X amount of time in another your ok to have a registered vehicle in one & a different license in another. Which I do.... Where my car is register the town doesn't have car laws so if I happen to get pulled over I explain I'm visiting
