Change of heart
Hey guys just wanna know what you guys think. I realy love the new camaro but its really killing me that you cannot get an LS7 as a dealer option without it costing an arm and a leg. And the Ls7 Z06 has been my favorite car for a while now but I never though id ever be able to afford one till I started see the prices of some used ones. I've been seeing used 2006 and 2007s going for as low as $39000 and quite a few for about 40000 -42000. After I saw that I've kinda changed my mind. I mean I was gonna be putting down about $12-15K anyway for my camaro cuz my credit is kinda rough so if I'm gonna do that might as well geta Z06 and have my dream car. Ill get a used ws6 or Z28 as my daily driver can get those pretty cheap as low as 9000 and get my Z06 next year. What you guys think? I'm mean that only about 4k more the a new SS.

Buy the Z06. They will be making Camaro's for years to come. Worst case, you sell off the Z06 in a year or two.

People who buy Z06's are the people who should be putting at least half down in cash IMO.

Well if he was going to put down 12-15K this year then a year later he could raise it to 20K or so and maybe improve his credit and hopefully the economy will be a bit better (not looking so good yet though).

The only reason I'm condisering it is cuz its just a tad bit more than an SS and if I can afford to get the SS I can affors a $40000 Z06. And as far as my credit goes I don't come from a rich family or anything close to it. I've had to work very hard for eververything I have. And when your comming from a very low incomesituation you tend to run into a few problems with paying stufff on time. I've just recenlty been able to get on my feet very well financialy and started fixing my credit but its a process. Not everyone has a silver spoon in there mouth as a kid. I did some dumb stuff growing up and now I'm paying for it but I'm not gonna let that stop me.

This thread is full of FAIL... (except for what motorhed said)
#1, putting the 12K down on a used car -vs- a new car is a huge difference. Your payment on the rest will be MUCH higher on a used car. The rate on a used vehicle is always higher than a new one. #2, buying a 4 year old Corvette -vs- a brand new Camaro... #3, shakey credit... LOL, stay away from a Z06 or the Camaro till you fix this #4, the LS7 is not a dealer option PERIOD, there is no amount of money that will make it one. you need a speed shop for this. #5, a WS6 or Z28 DD... LOL. #6, owning 2 cars in NYC... LOL. I love America! |

Lol funny how narrow minded people are but there is nothing wrong with owning 1,2 or even 3 cars here in NYC I know plent of people who do. And there are plenty of people with new SS's as daily drivers in this site do you think they are crazy too? And if I choose to pay the extra it will cost for a very cheap Z06 that's my choice. I've got it pretty good now makeing great money and really don't have to pay any rent so I can do what I want. Plus I get an extra $2700 a month from the gi bill on top of my pay so I will be just fine.

Might depend on the Z06. Many around DC look great, get em up on a lift and WOW looks like they went off road a bunch of times. Also depending on the miles, could be a lot like sloppy seconds.

Yeah I know that's true but that's with any car really and most of the ones I'm seeing have 20k or less miles on them. I'm gonna make sure its good inside and out before I get it. But some of the ones I'm seeing in person are amazing even at the dealerships I'm just like wow. You should check online and see what I'm talking about. I was thinking they were gonna be like 60k but that not the case
