HUD options for 2010 for FREE!!

I got curious and did some googling and found out that you can use your smartphone as a HUD!

I downloaded one called "Speedview" from the Android market and will try it out tonite. There are several of these apps out for all smartphones...

Wouldn't you have to put some sort of mount on the dash? If you didn't your phone would blast across the dash and directly onto the floor...

I'm not gonna lie, I think a HUD gets in the way of things. The information the HUD gives I get elsewhere on the 2SS. Nothing special.

I think it's for more aggressive driving so you can keep your eyes on the road? I don't know for sure. I think it will look cool though lol. But at least it'll have a tach on there and not just MPH.

It looks like shit. Your going to have two images of it in your windshield because our glass wasnt designed for it. Its been on the iphone for a long time now.

and I'm betting it dont' work so good in the day time. It's relying on the reflection off the glass, not actually projecting anything up on your windshield.

To top it off, probably wouldn't be too smart having that on driving at night because phone light would create a gnarly glare off of the windshield and probably lower your visibility. Plus you would look like a goof driving down the road with your phone on your dash.

But at least your HUD would tell you when you had a text .

Very true, I wonder how well it works during the day. The daylight would surely have some effect on it.
