Getting closer to placing ZL1 Convertible A10 order...questions!!

Hi all,

As the title indicates we are close to putting down money for a convertible order (Nightfall Gray, A10 - GM Supplier Pricing). A few questions for all the owners here!

1) Does the ZL1 have any different materials on the top of the dash or center tunnel in front of armrest? Wife and I test drove the SS convertible and noticed there is awful lot of hard plastic. I'm guessing the same in ZL1? Not a deal breaker, would just be nice to have a bit more premium feel in those areas. I do know about all the additional alcantara bits...which I like! But don't think those cover any other areas of concern.

2) The sun visors in the convertible are really quite crappy. No cover for the mirror got rather distracting when they were down. Anyone have a solution for this? The coupe's visors are great.

Thanks! I might have some more questions come to mind...I'll let you know.

I think you better get a lot closer. Several dealers have told me that next week is the last week for So
ZL1 orders to go in.

As far as the material on top of the dash it's the same, but the front is suede and nicer.

The armrest is leather and not plastic. Has a nicer feel for sure.

...and you're probably looking at a 2018 model at this point in the game so be prepared to wait a bit.

But well worth it.

Thanks for the quick replies! Yeah we are ok waiting for the 2018 at this point. We are in the middle of buying/building a house...so we need that whole transaction to finish up before taking delivery. House will be ready in early July...so delivery in late July or August/September works. Should be able to get an allocation for that time frame! I hope!

Also in regards to the sun visor mirrors...I found a pic online of the convertible one. As you can see its just an uncovered mirror. My wife suggested we just get some black felt and cover the mirror, that way it won't be distracting!

The trick ELSD that is found in the 1LE & ZL1 Coupe is not in the Vert. Just a FYI. Appetently it could not fit.

I can't believe they wouldn't use the same mirrors in the vert as the coupe! Like you mentioned, with the top down, the mirror needs to be covered.

Unfortunately the dash and console are both covered in lots of plastic in the ZL1 as well. Even though the plastic doesn't feel good to the touch, it looks fine. Same with the door panels, but there is a lot of Alcantara on them that makes them look and feel really nice. The Alcantara above the glove box is a really nice touch too and makes a big difference imo.

Yep. No worries for us. This won't be a track car...and often our son will be in the back. Will be a daily driver + fun weekend car!
