These are American muscle cars. I agree that the styling should change either being an evolution of current design or some other "way forward" design. But what I don't agree with is the idea that the design should be European influenced. Yes I completely realize they want these cars to be "global" cars. The thing is...lots of europeans LOVE American muscle just the way it is. I know for a fact when you drive something as simple as a 2009 GT with exhaust through Germany, the people there will gawk and stare like you are some kind of rock star. They love it. I feel like if we start making our beloved cars look like theirs...it just dilutes the strong heritage and pride we take with American muscle.

Ummm... We have 300-400 million people in the USA...the rest of the world has 7 billion. No hard vehicular facts other than knowing china is the biggest automobile sales country on the whole. Middle East has a HUGE muscle car following and follow euro standards. As well as Europeans that love muscle cars. There is a demand for sure.

Seriously? China is the world's largest automotive market right now. Why do you think GM is spending boatloads to set up shop there before anyone else gets a good foothold?

I want numbers. When I was stationed in Japan I could count on one hand the American cars I saw. Did you ever visit Chinatown ny or flushing ny millions of Chinese there and most buy Toyotas, fact. The rich or well off buy German. Very few buy American.

General Motors (GM) and its joint ventures sold 11% more vehicles last month in China compared with last year, marking the first time its sales there topped 200,000 units in July. The Detroit auto maker said Monday it sold a record 221,580 units in China, led by strong demand for brands like the Buick and Excelle, which rose 25.7% and 10.9%, respectively. The continued introduction of Cadillac and Malibu in China triggered an 82.8% and 400% increase in sales, respectively, with Cadillac’s gains being led by the SRX and the XTS. GM US Sales 2012: 2,595,717 units GM China Sales 2012: 2,836,128 units And China DESPISES Japan. Toyota and Honda sales plummeted in China last year when the two countries got into it with each other. Plus Japan has super restrictive import laws which is why American manufacturers have little to no presence there.

I don't think it's about design in China but fuel economy . I myself don't like the looks of the C7 but at least the world seems to love it. China has way more ppl than the US ! They have twice as many ppl than we do if I'm correct. So, that could be why they sell more too.

Corvette and Camaro don't make up most of GM's US sales either.

Making it look American isn't saying they can't buy our cars . They make their cars look European and we have the opportunity to own. Looks don't determine if you have the opportunity to own it or not.
