ZL1 Sunroof question/experience.
So my lemon 300 srt8 is in the driveway for another 15 days. I have locked up a black zl1 with recaros/suede/nav/carbon fibre m6.
THE PROBLEM: my 300srt8 is a lemon because of the sunroof. Ive listen to it rattle for damn near 4000 miles and Im borderline loosing my mind. I've found an ashen grey up in Freemont CA with everything I want buuut it has a sunroof. For this reason I'm scared :'( I want to know if any of you have had issues and or rattling with the sunroof option. Also very open to how you guys feel about it. I would appreciate all opinions on the subject and offer you my gratitude in advance. I've got 15 days and counting before I have to have another vehicle because god knows my 68 triumph t100c is not going to run well for too long. Thank you so much in advance. PS I've been using car gurus and searching Nationwide for the right one. Its a pain in the ass due to the sites poor aggregation. So i've had to look up zips across the country and input them. If there is an easier softer way that you know of let me know Last edited by Shakeandbake; 06-12-2014 at 03:12 AM. |

I have only had my 13 zl1 for a few thousand miles, but I don't hear any rattles at all with the sunroof. If you are going to be tracking the car, just make sure you have enough head room with a helmet on.
I had an Audi Q5 and that was he main reason I got rid of it, the sunroof rattles drove me nuts and audi tried to fix it numerous times, but it was a common complaint with them. |

I can't speak to the reliability or how well it holds up over time as my car doesn't even have 1000 miles on it yet. But, I can say that it is, without a doubt, one of the most comfortable rides with the sunroof open of any car I've been in. No buffeting, no noise. I really enjoy it.

I had a 2012 SS and now a 2013 ZL1 both with sunroofs. The 2012 was former rental car and been put throught the paces and after 28000 miles it worked great, nice and tight.

My sunroof doesn't rattle and seems to be of better quality than the last GM sunroofs I have seen. It is nice to have. |

Had a sunroof in my '11 SS and the ZL1 with no issues, love the SR. It is tight with a helmet, I'm 6'1. Would order again.

If you are already weary about getting a sunroof that concern will not fade with time. It will lead to you regretting the decision to get one and possibly this whole scenario repeating itself. You will look for every little thing to be wrong if you get one. |
