Magnaflow resonated x-pipe issue - fitment?

So apparently there's like one exhaust shop left near me and they're backed up for days so I went to a Meineke

Anyway, I have this:
http://www.phastekperformance.com/Ca...pipe-11386.htm

Magnaflow 11386, presumably to replace the factory H-pipe to try and knock out some of my exhaust drone.

They started off by arguing that it's a muffler and not an X, but once we got past that, they brought me out to look under the car and tell them where it's supposed to go - pointing out the H - and they said there's no way it would fit, that even if it did fit in the tunnel there would be no room for them to weld it.

It did look like it was going to be pretty tight - anyone else have this issue? Does it just look tighter than it actually is (that's what she said)? I finally told them to just take it off the rack and took it back home with me to figure out what to do.

It will fit. The exhaust has to come out of the car to complete the job though. Try a different shop.

Best regards,

Thanks Tyler. I will see if I can find an actual exhaust shop around.

Had a similar issue, "that's not going work", " its not going to fit", blah blah. In the end, the H was cut out and the X put in without removal from car. Cost $80.

The resonated X pipe fit on my 2LT convertible, even with the extra bracing. Not sure if the SS is different at the H pipe.

Fit on my SS just fine with no fitment issues. That's all I'm running, longtubes with no cats to the resonated xpipe with no muffs. Sounds amazing and Very minimal drone. I'd try and find an exhaust shop if I were you. Dealing with meineke is like dealing with some of the people that work at o reillys lol!

It fits fine...I did straight Xpipe first, too loud for me, dropped in Xmuff and it's about right...Used Walker Exaust clamps, no welding, did it in the driveway with a muffler delete, Magnaflow axle back in about 2 hours.

Would this be louder than the stock H-pipe?

Man you need to run from that damn shop. When I brought my resonated X to my muffler shop he had it in and welded after about 30 minutes for $50. There was never a will it fit moment...

Lol the whole damn neighborhood has em now. I picked up mine, met the wife she had one, the two of the neighbors picked em up as well.

The shop that put mine in said they where not 100% it wouldn't rattle but I got the sense they where covering there ass. I did end up with it hitting a bit but my exhaust was a little low in the back. Stuck a hose clamp over each of the rubber hangers and zip tied them on each side to keep em from walking. No more rattle.
