Price cant be right

Just got back from Firestone changing my oil. I was picking up my car an as im paying, a very good looking french lady with a new Fiat 500 came in and asked for her oil/filter done. They said it takes fully snth and thather car requires a tire rotation and allignment every 5000 miles. That will be $370.00 .

She could barely speak any english but could tell she was shocked and had no clue but said ii guess if you say i have to.

I said to my salesman. Are Fiats really that exspensive, and he replied it needs fully synthetic and just the allignment cost $170.

This would mean a rotaion and oil change cost $200.
Can any of these prices be correct? Seems hight to me. If so i will let them know and will try to go back and see this lady and let her know. I actualy feel bad, if she was getting ripped off. It seemed like they took advantage of the situation.
Correct me if im wrong,

That is so incorrect and that dealer or wherever she took her car is ripping her off, I own a Fiat 500 Abarth and it only takes 4 quarts of 5w40 synthetic which is like $8buck a quart max even at the dealer and the car doesn't need a alignment every oil change maybe tire rotation and that should only be like 40 bucks max at a dealer. So yes u should feel very bad for that and if u still go to this place maybe they are ripping u off as well.

yupp they are trying to rip her off. Toyota dealer told my wife her car needed an alignment when she went in for oil change she called me I told her to tell them it better be under warranty if it needs alignment at 10000 miles there must be something broken, or they are full of S**T. If car cant make 60000 miles before it needs and alignment its piece of crap last 2 cars made it 80000 and 110000 miles on first set tires and that when they got alignments and they were both barley out of alignment.

That is waaaay too much. Over here (where i'm stationed at-Lemoore), unlimited tire rotation is only $18. Synthetic oil in autozone will cost you below 50 bucks...oil filter maybe 10 bucks...alignment maybe $80-150. That is a total rip off!

You should tell her to go to pep boys. You get a free tire rotation with every oil change.

Im going in next week and talking to someone. Besides it needing or not needing a tire or alignment rotation. What does the factory recommend? Of course their going to do it by the book if they can get paid for it. I want as much ammo/knowledge before i go off. Ive only done oil changes in mine and wife's VW. Better said, use to!
Fn rip off artists!

Poor girl. I just hate to hear stories like this. I wish more women would learn about cars. Ive went round w so many men in industries like that bc they figured I was a typical woman.

Because i have a Camaro and was there having my oil changed and
made an observation of a Customer being ripped off at a big name shop. Firestone. This helps me now choose to be more cautious of some shops and now changing. Maybe it helps someone else.
Im sorry i bothered you mr. Forum police! Did i waste your time?
