VERT OWNERS CHIME IN

is this true what they are saying, That the vert's do not have PTM mode's.

Do you have launch control?

What are the major differences between coupe and vert?

Just getting ready to order 2014 ZL1 Vert.

Correct, the Vert has no PTM Modes

Correct, the Vert has launch control same as the SS

The Vert is also speed limited to 155

I believe the Vert also does NOT have the front belly pan that the coupes have.

Course I'm to old and lazy to look for myself.

Launch Control in a Vert - Yes if a manual.

2013 ZL1 Owner's Manual page 9-40, Performance Traction
Management (PTM) (ZL1 Coupe Only)

Competitive Driving Mode, page 9-39

Competitive Driving Mode, Performance Traction Management (PTM), and Launch Control are systems designed to allow increased performance while
accelerating and/or cornering. This is accomplished by regulating and
optimizing the engine, brakes, and suspension performance. These modes are for use at a closed course race track and are not intended for use on public roads.
They will not compensate for a driver’s inexperience or lack of familiarity with the race track. Drivers who prefer to allow the system to have more control of the engine, brake, and suspension are advised to turn the normal TCS and StabiliTrak systems on.
Notice: Do not attempt to shift when the drive wheels are spinning and do not have traction. This may cause damage to the transmission. Damage
caused by misuse of the vehicle is not covered by the vehicle warranty. See the warranty book for additional information.

Competitive Driving Mode (SS and ZL1 Convertible Only)

Competitive Driving Mode allows full engine power while the StabiliTrak
system helps maintain directional control of the vehicle by selective brake application. In this mode, TCS is off and Launch Control is available. Adjust your driving style to account for the available engine power. See “Launch Control (V8 with Manual Transmissions Only)” later in this section.

This optional handling mode can be selected by pressing theTCS/StabiliTrak button on the console quickly two times. The appropriate message displays in the Driver Information Center (DIC). See Ride Control System Messages on page 5‑38.

When the TCS/StabiliTrak button is pressed again, the TCS and StabiliTrak systems are on. The appropriate message displays briefly in the DIC.

Launch Control (V8 with Manual Transmissions Only)

A Launch Control feature is available, within Competitive Driving Mode or PTM, on vehicles with a manual transmission to allow the driver to achieve high levels of vehicle acceleration in a straight line. Launch Control is a form of traction control that manages tire spin while launching the vehicle.
This feature is intended for use during closed course race events where consistent zero to sixty and quarter mile times are desirable.

I heard this, waiting to see the pics

I knew about the Speed limiter, but you figure they don't want you ripping the top off at 180, but the rest of that kind of sucks.

The Vert ZL1 at F Body Gathering Atlanta this past weekend has a different spoiler, more like the SS lip, is this related in that they don't need anything more at 155?

The ZL1 Vert spoiler is also different than the coupe because on the Vert, the antenna's in the spoiler.

Convertibles need a different style aftermarket exhaust than the coupes, if you decide you want to go that route.

The 'vert is definitely limited to 155mph. It is a soft limiter so the car doesn't feel like you're hitting a brick wall.....it eases against the limiter and just sits there.

Verts get more action. For some reason around here the people driving other brand cars see my Vert and mistake it for an RS V6 or something anything besides the beast it is. Big mistake! Is all I'm gonna say!!
