Not only that, some people want a Camaro but they do not need a V8 to enjoy the car..

Even if there's a Bowtie in the center of the grille, there could still be the new Camaro badge somewhere else up front, no? Or perhaps they created a new bowtie/Camaro combination emblem of sorts...
We'll just have to wait and see though. May 16... seems so far away when you're EXTREMELY excited! |

A 20% change in the LT1 sounds like a lot more than just some tri ys and a new intake.

What else would make since for them to change? Maybe a more radical cam with lumpier idle? The intake and headers have some logic behind their changes, different engine compartment. Not sure what else they would want/need to change for the Camaro specifically.

How did they quantify 20%? By part numbers changed? Number of parts changed? Does a different head bolt count as 1 part or 20? The only parts that really matter are the ones that affect the compression, the intake, or the exhaust. The new headers are cool, though. LTs would be much lower on my mods list now. |

Probably just the accessory drive brackets and components. Stuff they needed to redesign to get it to fit into the Camaro's engine compartment.

Food for thought... on the gen5 Camaro the rear badge is on the trunk.. this says taillamp? maybe hatchback or trunk is on the top of the back similar to corvette convertible models? |

20%...
1. we are going to get a more aggressive sound, and a better low end torque in our SS`s LT1 (20% = aggressive camshaft, bigger intake and tri Y) 2. we are going to get a slightly detuned LT1 (like it happened before)

been lurking here for a few weeks now and i have something to say.....
maaaaaan....all this anticipation is almost too much to handle. i have been a camaro fan since i got my first one in 2001, it was a 94 v6 it had 99,000 miles when i got it and it has 256,000 on it now and has been my daily driver the whole time. this is the first time i will be in a position to buy a brand new car and it damn sure will be a camaro! from everything i've seen i think i will really love the 6th gen, especially if the SS sounds like that audio clip GM has on their site...probably wishful thinking but you gotta have dreams right haha (and yes I made a ringtone out of it, thats the kind of exhaust note that makes a stereo an unnecessary piece of electronics). I get more and more excited for this car everytime i log on here and see updates |
