Clutch not full height

I've noticed that when I take off in the morning and it's 20ish out, the clutch pedal does not return to normal height at first. I will put my foot under it and pop it back up after which it seems to function normal.

Is this normal?

Its the crappy stock pressure plate sticking. Do the romote rezzy and keep fresh fluid in it and that will be about it until you can actually put a performance clutch in.

So is it something that the dealer should address or is it something that I should address?

personally if it's under warranty I'd let them get their hands dirty.

If you can talk the dealer into it(if they are going to replace the clutch) get them to put the LS7 clutch in it. Ive heard of a few being done that way.

The factory clutch is an LS7....

Exact same part numbers for the pressure plate, those units are terrible.

Are you driving the car aggressively or are you driving it normally?

If aggressive the clutch is on it's way out and you should take a look at one of our LT1-S street twins, utilizing a GM twin disc from the new C7 it's a fantastic piece that works perfectly in the new Camaros and provides excellent driving characteristics. This is a modified/improved twin disc unit that was used in the ZL1's from the factory.

If normally I'd flush the hydraulics and put a separate reservoir on the setup to keep the fluid separate.

Give us a call for more details.

Well, I have an appointment on Tuesday to drop off the car at the dealer and take a loaner car. This morning the clutch returned to normal height right away. It did grind into 2nd twice within the first couple of miles though.

I hope it's as easy as a good bleed, it definitely is clutch related and it sounds like it's not fully releasing.

Keep us updated as things progress!
