I have a '13 ZL1 and my sister just bought a Charger SRT8. I drove her car for a short bit, and while it wasn't as fast as the ZL1, it did have a lot of get-up-and-go. I also loved the sound of that big engine. The exhaust was pretty quiet, but that engine roar sounded frickin awesome. She just added a Corsa exhaust to it, so now it sounds good on both ends of the car. Very cool car for her and her 2 year old daughter. Quite practical too, because it has so much room. I wish the ZL1 had some of the features of her SRT8. There are some safety things and other stuff it has and the ZL1 is missing. Likewise, the ZL1 has a couple things I think would be nice in the SRT8.
Because we already have a ZL1 in the garage, I would look very hard at a Challenger SRT8, or even the Charger SRT8. And because I like the power of the ZL1 so much, I would probably order the Challenger or Charger from SpeedFactory, so it came with all the power I'd be missing. Even that's hard for me to say, because I'm still a big fan of Fords. I've just (surprisingly) come to love the feel of a performance automatic transmission with all that power, and the GT500 doesn't have that option.

I am not biased. I love challengers. They are great cars, but as previously stated, are not in the same league as a ZL1.
why does your dad want to trade?

I love the Zl1 but, if you have to get a Challenger, Chrysler is coming out with a 640 H.P. super charged engine to compete with Chevy and ford. It is due in 2014-15 and the motor is code name Hellcat. They say the motor should be mated with the 8 speed transmission. That should bring them back in the game some what. Still rather have my Zl1 and by that time it should be well over those H.P. numbers.

They are really two different cars. It depends on what you want. Both cars are very nice. A bit more a aggressive look on the ZL1. I love the styling on the Challenger. It could use wider tires and maybe a little lower height. I'm guessing the Challenger is less money. They're both great cars, but this being a Camaro site you can guess what the overwhelming favorite will be.

I'm. guessing you would choose the Challenger circle speedometers dash over the camaros square ? also, would you choose the Challenger interior over the iom orange and black camaro interior ?
