I would also love it if GM would come out with a few stage kits for the ZL1. Let's do it GM!

That hotcam heads and cam package brought the LT1 from 275hp to 425hp with a tune. A similar package for the ZL1 producing the same dramatic results would put it in the GT500's hp range, but then there's still the weight problem to deal with.

The big deal for everyone is still having a warranty for piece of mind.

Did the engines have these problems before the tune? What percentage of LNF engines that never had this tune have your stated issues?

You have to also forgive me about your "tune not installed by the dealer" story too. That's pretty thin, and if you know about this upgrade kit, you know why- because on the one hand, where's the proof that this guy had the actual GMPP tune? And on the other, who can say what he tweaked hinmself. Then add in that he might not know the difference between shit and shinola.

It sounds to me like you're a competent guy but I'm sorry, I'm willing to accept that these cars had issues. I'm just not really able to accept that the culprit was the GMPP tune when correctly installed, and not something else

We now have three without any problems, mine has the tune, intake and exhaust and is running around 300hp and 350Tq with zero problems.

And about that tune not being done at a dealer ...

Well, that is the price to pay for mods.

Your "whole" warranty doesn't go away any how. It has to be proven that said parts caused a failure to deny warranty.

If one is worried about warranty..leave it stock, pretty simple.

I doubt GM will offer upgrades to this car for performance and offer warranty because they already stuck their necks out with the warranty they offer on the ZL1. Its pretty substantial to warranty track usage.

I wouldn't hold my breath for any warrantable upgrades from GM in regard to performance on this car.

You would think that they would start developing performance parts for one of their performance cars, namely the camaro, before they started on these others.

Since it seems GM has high confidence in Whipple SCs for their COPOs, it'd be BAD @$$ to see an upgrade for ZL1 for a 2.9 at least. I think that would make A LOT of ZL1-guys dumb-happy.
