Anybody own or owned a C5 Z06
I currently drive a 2013 1LS and I'm looking to upgrade soon. I started looking at 1le's and had my mind set on one. While I was looking I found a C6 Z06 and thought about it until I did some research and found out the valve problems with the LS7. Long story short I am now thinking about a C5 Z06. What do you guys think? I don't mind the older interior so that's not an issue.

Great cars. Downside is interior and 2 seats obviously
But keep in mind we are talking about a 10+ year old "performance" car. I would only consider one with somewhat low miles, garage kept, 1 or 2 owner, who was preferably older and has all service/repair records. I would steer clear of an abused one. Same with any car that's been beaten on for 10 years

I can live with the interior. And I pulled out my rear seat and threw in a harness bar in the Camaro so not too concerned about that. Ok I'm gonna have my mechanic friend take a look at it tomorrow and we will see how he feels.

I hope it does! Test drove it and I think it was the Borla exhaust or the extra hp. But I love the car.

I had a 2004 Z06, Z16.
Bought new it in 2004 and it was a great car, highly recommend the C5 Z and the LS6 motor!

You may want to consider an 08 and up C6 w/the Z51 package as you get the LS3 w/436 HP that takes well to mods. The C5 Z06 is nice but is aged and the stock LS6 is 405HP.

I thought about those for a bit, but I think they're a little out of my price range. Love the C6.

The LS6 is a good motor and has a lot of support since it shares the platform with the LS1 folks. The transmission is really good, but a C5Z06 is a different world of ride and daily use than a 5thgen camaro. 10+ years can take it toll unless it was babied in a garage.
