FRONT PARKING CAMERA

Found this video on You Tube of a front parking camera on a 2017 Camaro ZL1. Something I may consider.

I have it on my 2017 ZL1

I installed a front camera from GEN5 DIY that does not require a rocker switch, but totally integrated; in reverse rear camera and when in drive the front camera for about 30 seconds then if you want more time then tap the camera icon on the display screen. Procedure is drop the panel under the glove box, remove the HMI and send to GEN5 DIY with vin #. They send you back your HMI plus connectors and wiring harness. Route the wiring harness from the camera to the HMI and that is about it. I have installed two and the second one I routed a different way, saved time and much easier. When parking touch the camera icon on the display screen and the camera will display for 30 seconds. When parking it gives me 2-3 inches from a parking block. On a 1-5 difficulty install it is a 2.5. I have simplified the pictures and instructions, GEN5 DIY provides excellent instructions. Note: I did install a Corvette style camera on the second car.

Pretty neat. I wish they had a kit that would make it similar to a zo6 camera. Dual cameras that fill in grille openings. It would look cleaner.

I had him order a Corvette camera to use this time and as soon as the Corvette cover arrives I will relocate the camera to blend in like the Corvette. He probably could have made a two camera package if I would have asked.

Awesome. Price you paid for yours? Estimate on dual camera package?

I'm sure there's an engineer somewhere that will wire the existing camera to come on at will. Not just when you're recording. We can only hope. Until then I only back in.

Did you ever follow up with NAV-TV? I bought all the hardware listed at the YouTube site, but found their install info rather vague...

What did you route differently on the second install - please be as wordy as possible. Any other install tips would be greatly appreciated. I am almost ready to order this from GEN 5DIY.

Not attempt to ram our tire against the curb like a pickup truck?

BMW dealer did this when I was picking up the car a few months ago. I said "Nope. Now you fix it". I don't know why people do this with cars that have air-dams/splitters, etc. There must be something they are taught when learning how to drive.
