Auto Sedan: 0-60 3.7 sec, 1/4mile 12.1 @ 116.2 (Curb Weight 3788 lbs.)

The ATS-V has the LF4 engine with 464 HP and 445 lbfttq

Your numbers seem close, but I think we might see a better 0-60 time than 4.2 for the auto. Only time will tell...
I'd say it would fit in that same ballpark. We should see a few hero runs in the 11.9x range but most will be low to mid 12's. Tune and tire should be a solid 11sec ride. Can't wait to see what Ford does to answer back. Thinks are getting good for us the consumer.

I just don't get it.how in the world can an auto be faster??!?!?
manual has been always faster and now with this A8 tranies....
my genesis has A8 ZF but it isn't faster then the manual genesis GT(raced one thats why).I just don't get it.seems reasonable but difficult to understand.i mean its right that the auto changes faster but......I just don't get it.maybe I will, some day.lol

I imagine it has to do with shifting faster, less slip with the clutch, the stall on the torque converter, time it takes to manual shift the manual trans,

Really? You don't get it? You do realize this is a different transmission than what is in your ricer. You can never shift gears faster than this automatic transmission. That is why it is faster, understand?

Computers will always be faster than you; hydraulics will always be stronger than you. When put together properly, humans wind up slowing the system down more than speeding it up.

Older technology wasn't as efficient, not as fast, not as strong. Weve now gotten to the point where we can build a complex system strong enough to handle that much horsepower and torque, and still do it better than you, even if only minimally.

People make mistakes, computers only make mistakes theyre programmed to make.

I think we'll see the first magazine road tests in the Sept or Oct issues.

Sticking to: 0-60 4.4 and 1/4 in 12.8 for manual. Auto a couple of tenths faster..

September issues are going to be hitting news stands soon (if not already). No way will there be instrumented tests published by then. I wouldn't count on it being in October either, but it could happen. To me its a coin flip between November & December, with January 2016 being an unlikely possibility as well (about on par with October).

I agree. November/December for magazine tests. A month after for comparisons.

Automatic SS should be a low 12 second car stock. I say 12.2 to 12.4. Hero run might crack an 11.9 some day, but the norm will be low to mid 12s. Manuals will run the gamete as they aren't nearly as consistent.

Also, the A8 in the Genesis is not a ZF unit. It's a Hyundai transmission.

The current 1le has run 12.8-9 in mags and 4.5 0-60.

Your predicting basically no performance increase....???
