That's why I put "detuned". The effects on actual performance are debatable. The LS1 4th gen were widely accepted to make the same power and the LS1 in the Vette at the time despite different ratings.

The Fbody has never been "detuned". This is a rumor. The Corvette(arguably) had a superior intake and exhaust system. That is the only thing that would show a difference on the rollers. However, due to parasitic loss(C5, at least) often the Fbodies would put down MORE HP to the wheels. The Vette always remained in front on a dragsteip due to a significant weight difference and the ability to hook up better than a SRA.
There is no reason for the Camaro to be "detuned". It wont be overthrowing the flagship.

This is true and why I put detuned in parenthesis. The simple fact is the Corvette has been rated higher on HP over the 4th and 5th Camaro with the same engines. Whether there was any real difference in power is another story. It won't be faster than the Vette to 60, but it won't be a lot slower either I am betting.

There is a rumor about a TT V8 in the works, maybe it will show up in the Camaro first. Maybe not, but maybe. Watch out M4.

yes, LT5 rumored will be a TT V8 - slated for Cadillac CT6 - again, this is rumor BASED on a quote from de Nysschen.

Quote:
During the lengthy Q&A session, de Nysschen was remarkably forthcoming in answering the questions of Jalopnik readers and when the subject of the new CT6 range-topping sedan came up, the Cadillac boss was just as open. One reader asked how well the upcoming CT6 would be able to compete with the Mercedes Benz S550 or BMW 750, and this was de Nysschen’s reply:
"…the lightweight body structure allows us to achieve formidable performance even with a twin-turbo V6. Imagine how this car would perform with a twin-turbo V8."

The M4 can't keep up with an LT1 Corvette. More like adding insult to injury.

All this LT1, LT4, and LT5 talk is giving me flashbacks to Optijunk and convoluted cooling systems.... Ive got to adjust to the new coding w/out instant gag reflex.
REPEAT: "LT1 CAN BE good. LT1 CAN BE good."

I don't know about the Corvette but I saw a test where the M6 was faster than the Z/28. I thought it was the M4. Watch out M6.

M6 is not faster the C7 Vette either, and the M6 is worse than the M4 in the corners. Check out the times on the C&D Lighting lap

I don't know, the test I saw was a Top Gear video and was surprised when the M6 beat the Z/28 to the line in the quarter mile. They were both running against the GT-R. The M6 also has a TT V8 with 560 HP similar to that of the rumored LT5.

Well you would expect that. The M6 is overpowered Gran Tourer. The Z/28 a purpose built track car. The appropriate car for that test would be the ZL1.
