I said it "looks like an afterthought". I am aware of the engineering aspects of the design, but simply do not like the appearance of the honeycomb grille. They could have done better.

Maybe Chevy could offer a LT-style grille as an option on the SS. Of course they would then have to limit the SS top speed to, oh... I don't know - 170mph instead of 185mph (guesstimating figures) so it wouldn't go flying off the road.

I have never had such a PITA to clean as the grills on my GT500. That honeycomb is a nightmare... Esp in summertime when giant Texas grasshopers are in droves.

Thanks for clarifying. Great to know!

Since it seems all of the RS equipment will be on the SS, does that mean there will no longer be white SS emblems? Are all emblems (RS and SS) now red?

That's a safe bet since that's all we've seen so far (red SS/RS emblems).

I hope you can get all season tires on a RS. I didn't order my 2011 with the RS package because I needed a dd.

Just my opinion of course, but I think the design of the lower grille on the SS looks great. I don't know how one can say this intricate design looks like an after thought, but I respect your opinion. Its not exactly what I would call honeycomb either.

I agree looks pretty good much better than a honeycomb design

Only afterthought I see is the SS placement. It just does not look right there.

Agreed, but would add washing bugs out of the SS grill is going to suck.

Do like the vertical lights on the LT a bit more than the SS horizontal.

Hope GM offers more details about the spoilers. Al Oppenheiser mentioned they spent quite a bit of time in the wind tunnel & every change was tweaked there. So maybe they found some numbers there that will be beneficial or explain why they have the retro looking spoiler on the SS.

Not honeycomb. This is the first close up of the grille I have seen... thanks for posting. Still don't like it. LT grille looks much better (minus the chrome).

Based on available photos/videos, my initial reaction was one more favorable to the LT. A definitive answer, however, is pending a view of both cars in person.
