My F150 lock looked just like that and it cost nearly $500 to get it fixed. Trim, lock cylinder and some type of internal stay plus paint.

That bites but glad it wasn't worse. Most likely looking for electronics like radar detectors, GPS, phones or whatever.

If you remove the key-hole and the battery dies, you cannot get into the car without outside professional assistance.

He could always add a remote button release for the outside of the car and hide it under the car, but after a few people see it, it's open season on your belongings.

That really sucks sorry to hear this. At least you are able to joke about it some. It could have been a lot worse that's for sure. Good luck in getting it fixed and back to normal.

my brothers truck got broken into. it had a cap on it. they crawled over $1500 worth of tools and stole the 15 year old broken $100 Pioneer radio. Cut themselves up good when the broke the sliding glass window.

Sometimes thieves do this just to get your address and find out where your car sleeps and then stalk you until you are not home or sleeping. Break into the house and steal the keys.
