My gears don't grind and have never grinded, beside the occasional 'driver error' lol. Got a Hurst and an Abrams black pearl heavy knob now... and yet even stock, this wasn't an issue... since the new stick and knob, shifting only got easier. Love the front and back of mine... though the back end of the 14/15's has grown on me... especially the Z28 style. Whatever fits your style... 10-13's do look a bit dated stock imo (duh), but nothing that can't easily be fixed... |

There's only so many 5th gens with M6, SS, low miles, and bone stock available, so you may not be able to be too specific. I found a 2012 as described above last year and feel lucky. Regarding options, get a 2SS for head up display, upgraded stereo, leather seating, etc. My 2012 has FE4 rear suspension, they also made changes to the interior, steering wheel etc. You can find more info here: https://media.gm.com/media/us/en/che...maro/2012.html
My 2012 M6 LS3 does not grind in 2nd gear unless it is very cold, it warms up quickly and shifts fine. 2013 was the first year for MyLink phone/display controls. My 2012 has rear view camera display in the center rear view mirror. I like all 5th gens, not a 14-15 hater. The 10-13 front end looks more like a 1st gen, but 14-15 tail lights look like 69. I like the throw back 4 gauge package, looks cool at night, and so not modern! Good luck!

I want to thank everyone for the feedback provided in this thread. I've learned a lot about these cars just reading the comments. With that being said, I have one more question at this time.
Where there any revisions to the synchros in the 6 speed transmissions from 2010-2013 that help with the 1-2 shift? I understand that the shifting issues may be a combination of the synchos and the clutch master cylinder and have read the Tick Performance has a solution with a new clutch master. Have any of you installed this in your car? Did it correct the issue? I currently have a 2013 Challenger R/T with the TR6060, and it had this problem as well, but the fix for it was super simple in my case. The hard hydraulic line that feeds the slave cylinder had an orifice that restricted flow to the clutch slave. It was easily removed by threading a wood screw into it and pulling it out of the hard line. Now the slave has full fluid volume going it to it and no more shifting issues! |

I traded in my 2001 SS for my 2010 SS. All in all im very happy with that decision I made 6 years ago but I will admit, I do still miss that 4th gen, especially the T-tops.

When I originally bought my 2011 2SS M6 in 2015 it had 23000 on it with cam, lt headers and Varuum intake and I paid 25K. I kept hearing about the rocker arm bushings and hearing the tick but from everything I read, I though it was normal. Needless to say one morning I lost a cylinder and come to find out a lifter got stuck and bent a valve. It also cracked the lifter bore in the block. When I took it apart, I found that the aftermarket lifters were to tall and hitting the valve cover. $10K later I put a Chevy performance motor in it and now with all the mods I have done my car has about 4000 miles on it.
Other than that I love my 2011 and I guarantee you a stock 6th gen won't take this one! My tranny doesn't grind either but I have a Hurst short shifter set up. At the least change out the stock shifting lever bushings and you will see a big difference. |

perfect. (one tail lamp bulb in 10 years). What's inportant imo is the overall condition and the mileage. There's lots of beat up 12 and 13 Camaros out there.

My hunt finalized on these key factors for me.
1. I wanted the 1/LE option. So 2013-15 2. I wanted factory Recaro seats. So 2014-15 (this was a bummer because I love the rear of the 2013, good because I love the front of the 2014.) 3. I wanted NPP exhaust. Ended up finding a low mile 2014 1LE Red hot with Recaros and I have never loved a car so much ever. This car dethroned my 1972 Chevelle, and that was a tough act to follow.

I purchased a 2011 SS red convertible/auto that had 148K on it. It runs like if it were brand new.
Best car I've ever owned. |
