I think it will be Z/28 hands down because of the LS7.

I don't believe 1LE will bring much (if any) additional money over a SS. We would need to have a culture shift away from power to track prowess; which doesn't seem to happening any time soon.

Manual transmissions are about 5% of new car sales in the U.S., which means their desirability has decreased significantly. Most new drivers don't even know how to drive a stick, so it's hard to imagine that in the future they'll want to collect a classic they're unable to drive.
I'm not saying A6 Camaros will have more value, but they'll surely hold their own against M6 vehicles.
These new drivers you describe are future autonomous car owners not enthusiasts or collectors .

The high-end Camaros.....ZL1 and Z/28 should hold some value. But anything less....not so much. Your not cashing in on the musclecar craze you see on tv. Your whole argument is premature. You cant predict what the cars future will be.

The Z28s have a long way to go before any collector would see a return on one of them , i would put money on the ZL1 and the SS 1LE to see more of a return. I wouldn't invest in a Camaro thats not at least 45 years old ,maybe i would if it was a 81 Z28 for a resto-mod project.

It isn't necessarily one extreme or the other.

Sorry, but I believe you're way off base. There's no way any 5th generation model/trim/package will become more valuable than a 5th generation Z28 in equal condition.

So your putting a SS 1le ahead of a Z 28? You think the 1Le will be worth more in the future? No.....zl1 and Z 28 will may not be worth much more then your paying now for one now. But this debate is pointless we wont know for a longtime.

Have you seen the price of a Z28 lately, I passed on one last year with 850 miles selling for $46k , and they haven't hit bottom yet . The ones that were leased will start returning to lots and that won't help prices . If a collector paid $75k new, the car would be lucky to fetch 51k with no miles . And it would be a hard sell.

I think maybe he was referring to the return on investment since z28s are selling for half of the new sticker price

And I agree the debate is useless for a long time

I'm referring to long term collectability. Whether it's work $1K or $50K in 30 years, it'll be more than a ZLI, 1LE & SS.

Ya but its still to current. If my grandson is looking for a Camaro in 25 years and he has a choice of a Z 28 or an SS 1le. What will have the bigger price tag of the two? We will not be making money on Camaros in the future

That's a tough call, Collectability should be Z28,ZL1 then SS1LE ,but who knows when its time to sell one of them.

If the Z28 needs new brakes at that time i will say the SS 1Le will be priced higher .
