Unhappy trunk flooded on my zl1

hello, I finally was able to purchase my dream car a zl1, not 2 weeks pass were it started to rain and my trunk flooded here in LA

there was about an inch of water in the trunk. I was able to clear out the water and dry all the components however my screen does not turn on nor can I hear any sound. my back up camera works when I put it in reverse but that's about it. is there anyone here that fixed the issue without having to take it to the dealership? if so the help would be appreciated.
thank you.

Ouch - I may not be much help here, but your battery and important fuse box is right there in the trunk. Along with several other modules. I suppose best case, one or more of your fuses popped and saved some or all of it. If so, I'd make sure it's all bone dry before trying new fuses (if they are blown). If the fuses aren't, I'm afraid you may have bigger problems.

Check your fuses and cross your fingers.

Also, this thread shows how he relocated components from the trunk floor to help prevent a recurrence:

If this is a new car it should go right back to the dealer.

Yes - times 100! I would think this is all warranty. That trunk is supposed to be sealed for rain. That is BS.

Damn! I wonder what the cause is for some and not others? I wonder if I should install a bilge pump.

WTF, I've wash the Camaro (22 VOM 2SS)by hand with tons of water on the rear including the under carriage many times. Never noticed any yet. That's not supposed to happen. At least not like my first new car in 1976 a Cougar XR7 that leaked from the top back window. Take it back ASAP if new and have them fix it under warranty.

Yes, you may not like your dealership and you may want to do it yourself but taking it to the dealer protects you against any down stream issues from the leak.

Worst story ever was a Cadillac Eldorado owner had a flat tire in the winter. Went to get the spare and it was under ice from a water leak that froze.

If it’s under warranty take it to the dealer.

Man that stinks. Like most have said if it is under warranty take it to the dealership to fix and to avoid any hassle(s) if it comes up again.

And, this thread jogged my memory. A few months ago I saw this vid from Hot 1LE that talked about this issue. May be minor but hope it helps.

Here is a link to a service bulletin on the issue of water in the trunk: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/20...81677-9999.pdf

It specifies other possible causes for the issue beyond the two mentioned in the video:
