Convertible Owners.. what is your cut off temp for top down driving.

my first convertible, so for me so far the top has only been up when it is raining, which has been 2 times since August..

this week is has been cold for So Cal, down to 51º last night, but I still had the top down, yeah I had the seat heaters on and the heater on the floor keeping my feet warm, nice fleece jacket and a hat..

45 miles @ 70+ mph @ 10pm at night, my wife told me I'm nuts..

So what is your cut off temp where you are too cold for top down driving?

I picked up my first convertible in march of 08, by the time I left the dealer it was dark at 36 degrees and the top was down. Nowadays my cut off is mid 40's with the heat on the floor and a maybe a hoody. but keep in mind I walk around in December in shorts and a tshirt throwing snowballs. Realistically around here heat is much more of an issue, baking at a light when it's 110 out and near 100% humidity is not my idea of fun.

Not sure what my cold side limit is. Had my top down Saturday night when it was 58*. Heater and seat warmers were on and I was still comfortable.

When the sun is out and it is 98*, the top goes up. But in the evening or after sundown, I can tolerate hotter temps.

220 miles to Lake George, NY - 38 degrees when we left at 7:00AM / 52 when we arrived. Top down / heated seats on / windows up / hat and hood. As Maxwell Smart said - and loving it.

Used to drive my '69 Galaxie conv. in the snow. Hard to lock it back to the windshield since the material was so cold.

I'm going to be testing my limit soon. But when the 5yr old is in the back, the limit is raised substantially!

GM reccomends not putting the top udown (or up) with temps less than 40 degrees F.

My own limit is around 55 degrees.

Yesterday I was driving mine, when I left home it was 65, I wore a windbreaker. In the mountains the temperature got down to 54, but with my jacket I didn't think it got too cold. I also ran the heater on bi-level so warm air was going on my face and feet. I have driven my Sky in temperatures in the upper 40's with the top down and windows up and heat on.

55. I keep a fleece folded in the pocket behind the passenger seat.

The heater and seat warmers are great.

I've heard the factory wind restrictor helps. Anyone have one and care to comment?

50 is my normal limit. and at this temp. sometimes I have the heat on so my hands stay warm. Otherwise, I'm not usually cold.

No hotter than 95 degrees during the day... just uncomfortable. Oh, you mean when cold

In that case, below 60 at highway speeds is about my threshold. Florida living!
