Actually, a lot of people I have met have no idea what happens when their antilocks engage though. The rotors I can understand not knowing about, but the anti-locks are something drivers should be schooled on. BUT if my brakes 'pulsed wildly' all the time I'm pretty sure I'd take it to the mechanic regardless. |

Can't this also be cause by having air in the break lines? Or is that more of a shaking rather than pusling? Maybe this would only happen when you change breaks without bleeding them. Hmm, maybe it can also happen if your brake fluid resevoir is empty.

If you have air in your lines...The air'll compress when you step on the brakes...which will make your pedal feel really soft...and the brakes won't engage properly (with enough force to stop like usual)...a great danger. I don't know if they'd pulse, though...never heard of it happening like that.

Warped rotors. My wife constantly has that problem because she "rides" the brakes. Of course, she says I never use mine. But no brake problems for me.
I usually keep my cars 7+ years now, so I believe in PM. My family and I depend too much on our vehicles because mass transit is nonexistent where we live. |

Preventative Maintenance...
The term is used for everything from changing your car fluids to blowing dust out of your pc.

. . . so you don't use a personal massuse to forget about the car problems?

Perhaps you read Popular Mechanics next to the Prime Minister who is Personal Messaging someone while relaxing thanks to his personal Massuse?
And to use all of those is the same sentance makes me a Pitiful Man... |

I beat the hell out of my 02 everyday and have never had any problems that were not caused by my driving.

My 1995 still is in great shape other than needing some minor painting. It has 145,000 miles on it and runs great still.
For the last 7 years and for about 9 of the 13 years in the time I have owned the car it has been in Northern parts of the Country (Vermont and Idaho) and has been an everyday car and even though it has had to deal with winters it is still just humming along.
