Seatback Folds under Hard Braking

So the back seat which I believe is properly latched - I gave it a good shove and I hear a click. I try to pull it forward by the edges and it doesn't seem to move so I think it's latched in there.

Twice, under hard braking the stupid thing has unlatched and slammed down. Is there a TSB on this issue?

Not that I know of. How hard are you braking?

Make sure the little strap in the middle is pushed in a little. When I first got my car, I had the same problem. After the 2nd or 3rd time, I checked the strap and the latch. The strap was in just enough to allow the latch to catch but under hard stops the latch would just slip past the catch point and release. After I put the seat back up again, I pushed the strap in a bit and haven't had a problem since.

Its the car adding a little extra "oh s***" effect to your emergency braking. My Camaro does the same thing and so does my Fiesta in the same situation....

This happened to me as well...stopping for a damn red light camera....now GM if your reading this....if my 7 year old were to be in the back seat and were slightly lurched forward in a panic stop , what would the rear seat do?...

So long as the belt is on I doubt that seat would even move with a kid sitting there.

I've only seen this when the latch doesn't catch.

I've had this happen also, but like was mentioned I didn't have it latched completely. Just time the throw back up with a fast Accelartion.

My camaro did this all the time. I wouldn't brake hard yet the seat would unlatch. Pissed me off so one day i got in the back and slammed it so hard that it finally latched on. There should be a TSB for this.
