Dash ABL providers
Hi everyone. So, I did my own DIY on the dash ABL for our 5th Gen's. I used EL Tape instead of going with one of the more conventional methods out. Well, my EL tape has died, and to be frank, I'm sick of hearing the high pitched noise coming from the inverter required to run the EL. So, my question is this:
I've seen only 2 kits that are standard for doing this with the light pipe. Gen5DIY and sjmautoprod. Can anyone with these kits chime in and let me know how well they work? Which kit is better, brighter/more closely matches the current brightness of the door abl, etc. Thanks!

Can only speak to SJM. I did this project about a month ago or so and was very strait forward and worked great. I got the pnp adapter so was great.
Tony was great to work with and helped me out on instal questions a bunch!

I went with SJM as well and paired everything with NightOwl.

Yes switch the panels or make adjustments to make the piping fit your panels you have to Ttap on the LS for the power source I believe

So far there's more votes for the sjm. Anyone with the Gen5diy kit want to chime in?

I couldn't get the light even with the Gen5diy kit, it was bright on the ends and dim in the middle. I ended up using both the Gen5diy kit and EL wire to get the light all the way across the dash. I've had the EL wire installed for 4+ years and so far it works like the day I installed it.
