Found E85 in Columbia, MD area for $1.99/gal. A full $1.00 less than 93.

The gen5 v6 crowd had lots of issues with e85 destroying the fuel system and valve seats.

Gen5 isnt direct injected. Totally different engine and fuel system. Honestly people will have problems with any mod whether it's headers/FI/intake whatever, but e85 looks to be pretty safe for these 6th gens.

Isn't 85% The most they can do without it costing a bunch of money anyway? Something about the last 15% being really hard to extract. (From my very brief "knowledge" lol)

I have tested it at 90% at a few stations here on Long Island as well. Its a glass tube that you fill with water to a certain mark then fuel to the next mark and shake it then wait for the seperation line. Not sure how accurate it is its made by QuickFuel I bought it at a local speed shop but I have seen as low as 65% in the winter months here as well. FWIW the tester is usually within 3% of what the ethanol sensor in the car reads.

my tuner told me he tested 3 stations in this area all NOCO and they tested E90. iv read of others testing at E90 too. there is a drag strip in town too and you can buy 100 octane at the pump.

Did you notice a big difference in exhaust note? Some have said that ethanol muffles the exhaust sound

Actually no. It may be harder to tell with a straight pipe but it seems just as loud to me.

Beware trusting those test tube kits. They are not accurate and are super prone to user error. Your best bet is getting a flex fuel kit and an nGauge to get a reading from a sensor with a lot of R&D behind it.

Anything past about E60 isn’t doing much for a NA vehicle.
