I see where others are asking about different types of pads, was wondering if anyone had tried a different rotor, if they are running on the track.

A drilled rotor runs the risk of breaking apart from heat on the track. The holes hurt the function of the rotor itself. I have drilled and slotted rotors on my car, but I don't track the car at all. A DBA slotted rotor would be your best best.

R1 Concepts Premier Slotted. Track the car from time to time, so wanted to stay away from drilled or drilled/slotted. Running OEM pads right now, see no reason to change yet.
I would have expected this to be an easy searchable subject in the Wheel/Brakes/Suspension section.

Slotted or blanks for the track. I've used the factory rotors for 2 years with Wilwood ProMatrix pads for track duty without issues. Went with slotted StopTech rotors for the front this year, with blanks on the rear. Ran GLoc pads front and rear and was basically all track duty. Warped the front rotors pretty hard at NCM during the Optima Search for the Ultimate Street Car event only because of another car catching fire at the top of a hill and we were stuck on the hill from it. Otherwise the rotors were just fine and no issues with them or the pads from the track duty. As stated, keep the drilled rotors for the car shows and street.

I got recommended these by a garage at the track:
Gyrodisc. Good reputation apparently and the rotors are lighter than stock. Slotted, not drilled. I ended up doing the CTS-V upgrade. Had to replace my front hubs too, the right was completely done at 40K miles + track use. I replaced with ZL1/1LE/CTS-V spec SKF hubs.

I went with Baer Decela Sports front & back. Wanted improved looks at the lowest end of the cost scale, any braking improvements a bonus. DIY install with a buddy was a piece of cake.

What about dimpled rotors for track use?

We use OEM rotors and G-LOC or CobaltFriction pads.

One more question on brakes. Had the wheels off doing some cleaning and notice four little steel casters on each front brake caliper. What are they and what do they do? Thanks

They are referred to as roller skates and I believe their only purpose is to combat brake noise
