I would be okay with shelling $400-500 for 8 lbs weight saving for my car....my thing is about getting the car as light as possible while still DD.... front weight savings is an extra bonus... but I dont think that shape will flow as well as a rotofab..... also no flow rate numbers released ....

under additional info is says total system weight is 6 lbs.... anyone have the OEM and third party competitor weights?

what im really curious about is the weight saved from OEM... getting rid of all the sound tubes that add alot of tire noise into the cabin...

EDIT: Rotofab is 11 lbs

I have the rotofab with sound tube delete...I wonder what the stock intake/sound tube weighs? Felt pretty heavy to me

You can only feel sorry for pre-orders right now. You will have to wait for your full grief mode until they go on sale next year. Then you can start working through your grief. Maybe you can form a support group with the rest of the haters on here who don't even own Camaros.

I am sure your condolences will be appreciated by myself and everyone else with this awesome new intake on our cars next spring!

I am confused on why some people are moaning about a price on a carbon fiber CAI. I seen hood liners and other crap that costs more then this and to be honest if you have enough carbon fiber in/out of your car then to (some) money wouldn't be a issue and worthy of purchasing in their eyes i presume. As for the wight reduction i don't think you will see much at all that matters. I gain 5lbs and lose 5lbs ever few weeks with my eating habits.... LOL

What I don’t understand about these forums is the negativity that people like to post on these threads. My question is why? Do you really think that they make a product just to make a killing of us. Trust me I know the price of this stuff. Some products Online sales profit is literally 5 dollars. Companies mark up on some of these products is 10% other higher. But none of these people are multi millionaires and there is a reason for that.

Anyway if you have no interest in the product why get on here and bash the price or product? Think about how you would feel if someone came to your work bashed your performance and cost you your job or pay raise. Think about that next time you decide to bash or talk bad about something that has nothing to do with you or your everyday life.
Just tired of all the negativity. Merry Christmas

Rant over.

Agreed on both counts.

It's a product on the market. No more, no less...and K&N made a $700 Carbon Fiber intake for Gen 5 Camaro...so this isn't even new.

If you don't like it - move along!

People waste more time on these forums bashing products or telling someone to "check your owner's manual" as an answer to a question. If you can't answer, MOVE ON!

Ok, I took the stock intake setup and the entire soundtube (from the front of the engine to firewall). They only weigh 10.5lbs total.
