Tires: How to ship them.
FYI: The Post Office will ship tires!
Not only do I work for them but just bought two rears from a member in Maryland. Cost for two rears shipped from Maryland to TEXAS, $32 per tire. Just slap an address label on them and then wrapped it very securely to the tire with clear packing tape. Take them to the neareast PO and mail them parcel post. This will be the cheapest. It will give you insurance and tracking for this price. It took about 5 days at this distance. Hope this helps out. Much more convenient than UPS or FedEX. Michael....

That will be a big help for those selling/shipping...
Michael.....A question as a side note....Do you know if the same would work for shipping a catback system??? |

If you're REALLY looking for cheap shipping, tape up 2 of them together using a roll of clear plastic wrap from the dollar store, then a few wraps of clear packing tape to keep it from unwrapping... put the label on, and it's now one package instead of 2, which will cost less. You can then ship a full set of 4 tires as 2 packages instead of 4. The plastic wrap protects the tires from scuffs and scrapes to the sidewall during their transit too.

Yup! It was super easy.
All I needed to do was get a shipping label of some kind and tape it to the tire. Make sure it's well covered so it doesn't come off and bring em to the post office. I shipped em from southern MD to AZ for the op very easily. |

Good one. I'm a maintenance tech there so don't know a lot about shipping and the mail.

I actually may need to know this also. If I can't get my j pipe/Helmholtz mod pipes adjusted properly to kill my drone, the JBA catback is coming OFF!

the cat back that I'm looking to sell is a solo performace mach x. It just comes in 2 sections, but its still fairly large. I guess I I could just bubble wrap the heck out of it and tape the 2 sections together really well. It's not that heavy...just bulky....Gotta sell it first though....will cross that bridge once I get to it.

This is great info. I know when I had to sell my spare set, it was a hassle having to get estimates for different people in different zip codes... plus the whole shipping process had that air of "it's not entirely clear what you do..." which led me to only sell local.
This would be a good thread for the how-to section too!

Ship em the same way. Except I'd cover the wheel face with bubble wrap and then go get a roll of shrink wrap and wrap the wheel to hold the bubble wrap to the face.
