OUCH!!!!!
My poor rim... Lost sight of the stupid curb Sat. and drove up on the curb. Trying to find out if it can be repaired. If not, at least I have rim and tire insurance.....

I called AWRS, and had to mail him the pics. He needs to look at them he told me he may not be able to make the repair on the SS rims. Hopefully he will let me know today. I know it is small, but in my eyes the thing is friggin' huge, and I can spot it a mile away!! You all know how that is.....

Note that AWRS is a franchise business so you're going to find good ones and bad ones out there. If the guy you spoke with told you he can't fix that rash then run away. That is a very easy repair. Mine was worse and AWRS fixed it to new condition with no problem at all. |

I've curbed my right rear tire 2X but thank God no visible damage to the rim. They should be able to fix that, its minor enough. These cars can hard to judge, specially on right turns.

depends on the type of wheel. similiar story here, although my rashing was a little bit worst. my wheels are polished Al. and that's requires special equipment......idk..... quoted 200 for the one wheel and about 5 day turn around. lol...... the guy told me live with it......

OK, Ray from AWRS stopped by, and told me yes the rim can be rapaired, but has to go to the shop so they can make sure it blends perfectly. They will be coming back to remove the wheel, and take it with them. Should be back in 24 hours. SO far so good, and at this point I would already recommend them even though I have not seen the finished product.

Dude, I did the same thing last week. I had no idea that I could have it repaired. Good info.

My wife had a nail in her tire. I put the spare on, told her to take the damaged tire to a shop, get it repaired. She did, but they told her it was impossible... no way to repair a tire with that kind of damage (a nail... in the tread...). In fact, they said the tire needed to be replaced, and, since the tire was worn, as the other three tires were, she would actually need to replace all four tires. Lucky for her, the tire shop could get a new set for only about a grand. Lucky for ME, she called me first. I told her not to do it. I went to the same shop, the next day, with the same tire. They promptly fixed the tire for $10, and I was on my way. Lucky for THEM, I was not in a fighting mood, and just spent my energy being amused at their method of doing business. It seemed exceedingly clear to me that if you have a johnson, they won't try to rip you off... but if you have a different parts instead of a johnson, then they will ASSUME that they can trick you into buying anything they wish to sell you. |

Plastidip your rims. That might hide it.
