Headers, and intake on L99 with no tune would be about 360 rwhp/375rwtq

I had 376rwhp/395tq with intake, headers, hf cats, tune.

2013s have been dynoing a little higher, so add 5 on each if you want. Add about 10 hp and 15tq for a tune (VVT tunes get some decent torque)

divide by 85% to get the crank numbers: 423hp/441tq

My mod list is in my signature

I appreciate all of the honest feedback. Lingenfelter's description on the American Racing Headers is claiming 50 rwhp gain and I wasn't sure how legit that really was.

We had a customer with an L99 come in for a set of Kooks LT Headers and Hi Flows, CAI Intake and Dyno Tune. He already had a Magnaflow Catback.

Camaro dyno tune took the L99 up to 385HP, a power increase of 40HP!

The torque topped off at roughly 393TQ, an increase of 45TQ!

Would this be at the rear wheels?

That is rwhp. Cold air intake, headers and tune makes 370-390 wheel hp on an L99. check the dyno threads.

Sorry to revive a somewhat old thread, but I had my car dyno'd yesterday. A 2010 2SS/RS A6. I have Dynatech LT's, Airaid intake, Res/Muffler delete and an X-pipe. It put down 348whp... After reading through some of the posts on this thread that seems awfully low.

I dont know anything about tuning and this is the first car that I've ever had tuned, but the guy said something about my gas and timing? I told him that i've put in 93 since i've had it. (About 4 months or so) He said I must have gotten a bad tank because it's reading 87. He set the tune for 93 and said to just take it easy on this tank. I'm pretty dissapointed in the outcome especially for the amount of money spent.

Does the gas have that much of an affect, if any, on the horsepower? If so, what should I expect with a tank of premium? If not, why are my numbers so low???

Too many variables to be honest. It's 4-5 years old now. How many miles? Octane level will determine how much more timing you can run. I'm not sure how your tuner tuned for 93 if it was looking like it was 87. He could make a conservative estimate, but you can't accurately tune for a fuel without it actually being in the car. When it comes to 93, stick to name brand (exxon, shell, sunoco)gas stations. They tend to have better fuel than most.

Edit: what dyno was it? Mustang dyno's read the lowest. They take into account real-world variables.

She's got 23,xxx miles. I'm not sure how he did it either.. He asked what kind of fuel I put in, told him 93, and he said he'll set for that. My best guess would be yes, it is a mustang dyno. This assumption is just based off the countless mustang magazines in the lobby and the plethora of mustangs in the parking lot, lol. I just feel like I gained near nothing for the hundreds that were spent.

Well, if it is a mustang dyno, it would read quite a bit lower than a dynapack(bhp) or a dynojet(whp). The general consensus is 10-13%, unless it's been calibrated to read closer to what a dynojet reads. Every dyno is different unfortunately. The best way to tell is to always get a baseline. The other issue is you have a a6 and an l99, which stock, produces a bit less hp as well. You didn't happen to get a baseline or even a graph prior to him tuning it did you? What was it tuned on? Does the butt dyno say it's faster?
