Mine is lowered with 295 and 315 30 tires and have been running this way for the past two years and I have not experienced any rubbing and did not relocate the wiring harness in the rear.

I reported both of its posts this morning, to no avail (at the moment)...

Ok, so after doing more research and looking at my buddy's 1LE with the same MRR017 wheels (he bought a set of MRR for street tires), I'm guessing because of the different brakes on the front of the 1LE that something is slightly different in size versus the non-1LE 4 piston brakes set up (perhaps rotor top hat thickness or something) because he doesn't have the front tire poke like I do. So with that being said, since I now have these larger wheels on my SS, I think I am going to forego lowering my car because I think I have a very strong likelihood of some tire rub on the fender, which I absolutely do not want... If I had my stock SS wheels on there it wouldn't be an issue, but when I went from 8.5" fronts to 10.0" fronts, the problem arose. He does have the "Track Alignment" on his car so he does have a good amount of camber, but even before he didn't recall that much poke on the front of his...

2SS Capt, I'd love to see you and your buddy with the 1LE swap front rims for a few minutes to see if the tire brand difference makes any changes. It is so strange seeing some cars with poke, and others not. I'm wanting to do the MRR wheels and the same Atturo tires as you, but the poke has me questioning that. I am planning to do 275 35 Fronts and 315 30 rears. Do your rears have any poke? Looks like the 275 35 fronts are half inch narrower than your 285 30 and the rear 315 30 is about half inch wider than your 305 30's. I'd like to not have poke. Tire size I am choosing is very close to stock tire height to eliminate the gap as I do not want to lower my car. Maybe there are more differences in the front end of the 1LE vs. an SS than everyone thought.

2SS Capt, how much gap is between the top of the tire and the fender on your SS? After putting the MRRs on my LT1 I definitely have more gap.

I'll have to measure it, but yes going with the MRR017 and 1LE tire size, you'll pick up about 1/4" to 1/2" more gap... It kinda bugged me at first but I've grown to not mind it, the one fact I like is the spacing is even all the way around the tire (vs. the tire being almost in the wheel well at the top and wide spaces at the front and rear of the tire (to the fender).

Yeah, I think I may have picked up closer to the 1/2 mark. This morning I roughly measured from the ground to the fender and it a little over 28 3/4 inches, maybe 28 7/8. I'll have to look again to make sure I got it correct. Really considering those springs but my driveway is on a bit steep angle from the street, I already rub the front lip unless I really angle out/in, so lowering will concern me more.

2SS Capt, do you have any good side pictures of your car? I'm curious about the gap too. I ran MRR 650's on my last SS with 295/35 and 275/35's. Little more diameter to help with gap. Really like that set up, but I've also seen what you mean about that "even" gap all the way around, and I do kinda like that too....

Thanks! Just changing to this wheel and tire setup, it did lower the car overall about a half an inch but I did pick up a little bit of wheel gap in the wheel wells.

same experience here with the lowering on my LT1 and it looks like we have the same amount of gap.
