Its really screwed up in my opinion. So many 16's left as well as a shit load of 15's everywhere and they are already bringing out 17's. Redonkulas, they haven't even spent a dime on adds to get rid of 16's. I'm a GM guy but sometimes I wonder WTF is going on with the way they do business. My dealer has nine 16's, Keith and I are the only customers who have bought them locally. Its going to hurt all of us who bought 16's with lowered values.

Definitely understandable but don't let it be in the way of you and a fantastic car. I got lucky and I have no issues. Do I have some paint issues? Yes. Does it bother me? Nope. At the end of the car, while I do truly love my toy cars, it is still a car.

Well that's why I put the smiley face, so it wouldn't be rude lol. Like Ricky Bobby....."with all due respect..."

I'd jot down all the little problems people have posted on here and just check the car for any of them. If you don't have any, it's probably alright. Aside from some jackass on the assembly line closing my door with something in the way, I really didn't have any major issues with mine, comparative to others. I didn't have the oil tube recall but I do need to have my toe links looked at. Mine was built in January.

I agree about the leftover 2015s, it's kinda strange by now. There's a dealer by me who I would consider to be a high volume dealer, they have about 20 6th gens in stock. I was browsing there today and I noticed they had early builds and late builds (all styles- 1LT/2LT/1SS/2SS)...the oldest I found was built in October of 2015. They also had what I thought to be a shit ton of 2015s... Probably 8 or 9 of them? In contrast another local dealer only has 2 6th gens in stock and no 5th gens. I guess it depends on sales volume. I figured they'd have to have a relatively high allocation from GM to be able to get that many '16s, but at the same time it's just odd that they have so many leftover 15s, especially with 17s on the horizon. Also makes me wonder how receptive they'd be to someone who wants to custom order when they have so many sitting there (which I'm sure they'd deal better on). Whenever I move forward I would like to order my own 2LT, so I think of things like that.

Wait. There are clearly QC issues on the '16 so may as well wait a bit longer for a model that is hopefully screwed together a bit better.

I hear you but how long we talking? If you buy a 2016 now you will probably have a March-May build? If you order a 2017 now you will have what, a June build? And what will be different about the car 2 months later? It is still the same engine, transmission, Chevy Mylink, same paint, etc. Hopefully, after building 50,000 of these cars by now that the employees have improved their craft as well.

I think in order to really avoid 98% of issues you need to wait until the 3rd or 4th model year and then there is still a risk of having a problem.

Also, factor in the timing and price increases. If you buy a early 2017, you will typically lose any end of year incentive money and they won't discount nearly as much in the first few months. Also, pricing goes up. So, yes you are buying a 2017 and you get the newer birth certificate on the car, which it is probably worth a couple grand in reduced depreciation but you are paying for it.

So, the question for those who need a car this summer timeframe. Do you buy a nicely discounted end of year 2016 or pay top dollar for an early 2017? For arguments sake lets just say you can get $5k off a 2016 or $2k off a 2017? Also, keep in mind the $600 price increase and $395 extra if you love Hyper Blue.

THANKYOU. Im gonna go 16, like you suggested look for a later build such as March or May hopefully by then they have learned from there mistakes..And what could be different from a 17 June build right.

If there is still any management on the line then things should have been tightened up by now to reduce human error. Like I said...."if".
