I'm sure they'll find a lighter weight V8 to throw in. And like everyone else mentioned, there's always the crate engines.

I think you are all getting ahead of yourselves. We haven't even finish the first model year of the 5th gen and you're already bitching about the 6th gen. lol First CAFE is an issue. GM needs to up it's game big time with fuel efficiency but so does everyone else. So if GM couldn't find a way to work a V8 into the next Camaro Ford and Dodge and everyone else will have just as much a problem. There will be a V8 if they make a 6th Gen. It will probably have a gas guzzler tax and it will probably be the top trim and cost a lot. The reality is a Camaro without a V8 option just isn't a Camaro. Fbodfather knows that. He hs helped to bring us the car we know and love today and if a car in the future is to wear the Camaro name He will make sure that car deserves that name. These are rumors. Most rumors have a shred of truth to them. So it could be that the base engine is a twin turbo v6 putting out insane power, and a ridiculous (powered) V8 option who knows? The next Corvette is rumored to have a 700hp ZO6 and a 900hp ZR1 do you honestly think they would neuter the Camaro?

So what would be the point again? The 6th gen should suck so all the 5th gen owners profit? Sounds like those guys (for lack of oohhh so many preffered words) that would preffer the Z/28 never be made so their SS stays the top model, even if it means submitting to the competition and denying performance enthusiests. Personally i think thats just completely selfish and a complete betrayal of GM loyalty as far as those guys go...as far as the paying off and ordering a 6th gen thats more like it haha, as long as you can bring yourself to part with your 5th gen =P

There probably won't be a 5.0. If GM has to take this route you can bet they all will be taking it.

You guys are fun......................a description so vague you couldn't possibly make anything out of it and you guys go flaming out of control. LOL.
This was not even a quote by anyone from GM: according to consultancy firm Grant Thornton LLP and analysis firm CSM Worldwide.

As for the original quote id go the same route, V8 stang vs V6 Camaro? My love for the Camaro is strong but its not a Camaro without the V8 so id jump ship to Mustang. And what was the idea with the RS SS V6 and Z28 SS? SS is the performance trim, Z/28 is a higher-tier performance trim, and RS is just a body kit and has nothing to do with the performance, im not really sure what you were getting at here unless saying put a V6 in the SS and a V8 in the Z28 which i would most definatly be against lol |

Correct...take a look at the 2011 Explorer...no V8 option planned.
