I'm happy with what I bought, that's why I bought it. But how about we wait and see what the General comes up with before dismissing it?

My point with the SVO (and I had a friend that had one) was that the performance potential is there and has been tried. Hopefully technology will allow a "better" SVO now.

I'm not sure why folks are so against a 4banger.... If a Turbo 4 cylinder is capable of a HP range in the 310-320 in a 3,400lb(hopefully) car and it is able to run 13s in the 1/4 as a base model car, i think it would be a great addition to the Camaro lineup... Look at the Mitsubishi EVO/Subaru WRX Sti, making about 300hp and not to mention when they are modded, they are some serious contenders.. I would like to see something different for the 6th Gen Camaro, I always buy a V-8 myself but different would be cool...

If the hood on the car couldn't be opened, 90% of the people here couldn't tell a RWD inline 4 making 350 bhp from a RWD V8 making 350bhp in the very same car

Horsepower horsepower horsepower. I'm sorry but the focus of this whole thing comes back to hp again and again and car guys should know two things: hp isn't what wins the race, and you get sold the hp but you buy the torque

nooooo they put the 2.8l v6 and the 305 in the berlinettas, they put the iron duke in the sport coupe (base model). And it sucked. I wouldnt really like to see a 4 banger camaro, but if it helps keep the camaro in the chevy lineup, im all for it. But i would never buy one

I don't know... imagine four huge coffee can size cylinders with a supercharger on top!

That might be cool a four cyl. Camaro.

...there is no demand (or need) for a four cylinder Camaro...they thought this one up on their own...

Yeah, because those 2 engines would sound so much alike.

Oh, I do apologize. I though we were talking about something that matters to a car's performance.

Now tell me about the difference that matters from the driver's seat, Jackie Stewart. Where the H-16s (two V8s are better than one) you drove for BRM so much faster for their sound? Were the ferraris of the late '60s good enough to be F1 winners even though their war-whoop V12s sounded so good you'd need to chnage your pants?

What does a "V8" sound like anyway? I've heard whisper-quiet V8s from the '50s, and I own a V8 car that sets off car alarms. Without knowing that the '50s car was a V8 would you argue that only the loud one is a V8, from sound alone? I4s don;t all sound like sewing machines. But whatever, if your argument is sound matters

It's not just the sound, it's the feel. I've driven 4 cylinder cars that are faster than the V8 cars I've owned, but I still prefer the feel of RWD V8-powered cars.
